Summer 4

"It was an amazing full-immersion experience that gave my child the chance to get her feet under her at her own pace. It effectively prevented "summer slide," and allowed her to enter third grade ahead of where she ended second! She now regularly prepares and gives oral presentations to her third grade class. I am beyond grateful for everything this program has done for my daughter. It has truly been an enriching experience that has made a lasting impact on her confidence, her reading skills, and her sense of identity. I can’t recommend it enough!"

Summer 3

"A beautiful aspect of this program was the community it provided. My daughter made friends who, like her, have dyslexia. She not only learned to embrace her own dyslexia, but also gained the confidence to openly talk about it with others. It’s incredible to see her proudly share her summer stories and state that she’s dyslexic, without any shame or hesitation. This program helped her build a strong sense of self and taught her how to interact with others who share similar experiences."

Summer 2

"The Rawson Saunders summer session has been an absolute game-changer for my daughter. She’s attended for the past two summers, and I can honestly say it has been one of the best experiences of her young life. Over the course of each summer session, I’ve seen her transform into a more confident, engaged, and enthusiastic version of herself. Each evening, my daughter would eagerly pack her bag for the next day—something I never thought I’d see! In the past, she would often be reluctant to talk about her day, but this program has been a complete turnaround. She started coming home excited to share details, offering lively reports about the activities she’d done. I no longer heard the typical responses of: "nothing" or "I don’t want to talk about it." Instead, she’d tell me about her adventures, friendships, and everything she had learned. She also mentioned more than once that her teacher in this or that class is "AWESOME." One of the biggest improvements I’ve seen is in her reading. This program was the perfect complement to her Take Flight program, providing her with a unique opportunity to practice her reading skills across a variety of disciplines. Whether it was reading during creative activities, STEM experiments, or team challenges (robotics!), the program’s structure allowed her to reinforce her skills in a fun and interactive way. It wasn’t just about reading—it was about using her reading in real-world contexts, which helped her develop both fluency and confidence."

Summer 1

"Rawson Saunders' summer program has been a game-changer for our child.  It has been the one time-period annually where we see our child's reading skills sky-rocket, enabling him to return to his gen-ed environment in public school in August with significantly higher ELA scores than we saw the prior May.  Most importantly, a month of learning in an environment that doesn't "measure a fish on how well it can climb a tree" gives us back our confident, glowing child who is refueled and willing to take on new challenges.  From our student's perspective, the summer program is mostly "just a lot of fun" and we hear about the electives (especially wood-working shop time!) with enthusiasm and anticipation all year.  We're so thankful that we lucked into having this gem just a few miles from our home."
