Flag Football at Rawson Saunders is a co-ed sport that highlights the skills of tackle American football without being a full-contact sport. The sport focuses on speed, agility, and hand-eye coordination. Rawson Saunders will be in the Austin Private School Association (APSA) league and compete against other schools in the surrounding Austin area.

Flag Football is open to all Rawson Saunders students grades 4–8. Pending interest, boys and girls will play on the same team but are not guaranteed to play against other co-ed teams.

Grades 4-5 will be coached by Coach Blake Edwards. 

Grades 6-8 will be coached by Coach Blake Edwards.

What are the dates for the flag football season?
The 2025–26 Flag Football season will run from August to October 2025. There are no practices or games on school holidays or during school breaks.

When are practices and games?

• Grades 4-5 Practice Days: Tuesday & Thursday, 3:00–4:00 p.m. First Practice: 8/26/25 at 3:00–4:00 p.m. 

• Grades 4-5 Game Days: TBD

• Grades 6-8 Practice Days: Tuesday & Thursday, 3:00–4:00 p.m. First Practice: 8/26/25 at 3:00–4:00 p.m.

• Grades 6-8 Game Days: TBD

• Practice Location: Austin State Supported Living Center

• Who can play?
  Flag Football is open to all Rawson Saunders students in grades 4–8. Pending interest, boys and girls will plan on playing on the same team but are not guaranteed to play against other co-ed teams.

  How much does it cost?
  Parent accounts will be directly billed $350 for each team's participation.
  
  What materials are needed?
  The game uniform jerseys will be provided by RSS. Athletes should provide their own mouth guards, water bottles, cleats, and black athletic shorts (without pockets). 

  How will my student get to and from games?
  Rawson Saunders van transportation will be determined once the season schedule has been provided. 

Volleyball at Rawson Saunders is only offered to female athletes and highlights skills like passing, serving, setting, spiking, and digging. Rawson Saunders will be in the Austin Private School Association (APSA) league and compete against other schools in the surrounding Austin area. Volleyball at Rawson Saunders highlights skills such as passing, serving, setting, spiking, and digging.

Volleyball is open to female Rawson Saunders students in grades 4-8.

How much does it cost?
Parent accounts will be directly billed $350 for each team sport participation. 

What materials are needed?
The game uniform jerseys will be provided by RSS. Athletes must provide their own knee pads (optional, but recommended), black athletic shorts or volleyball shorts (no pockets), tennis shoes, and a water bottle for all practices and games.

How will my student get to and from practices and games?
Rawson Saunders van transportation will be determined once the season schedule has been provided. 

Basketball at Rawson Saunders focuses on the fundamentals like dribbling, shooting, passing, rebounding, and defense. It is a fast-paced cardiovascular sport that requires agility, speed, and hand-eye coordination. Rawson Saunders will be in the Austin Private School Association (APSA) league and compete against other schools in the surrounding Austin area. 

Grades 4-5 Boys Basketball will be coached by Blake Edwards.

Middle School Boys Basketball is coached by Andrew Conrad.
