Empowering Students to be Extraordinary
Founded in 1997, Rawson Saunders is the only full-curriculum school in Central Texas exclusively for students with dyslexia. Rawson Saunders provides a rigorous, challenging, balanced curriculum of the highest caliber academics, fine arts, and athletics. Class sizes are small, allowing for optimal teacher engagement and student participation. The student teacher ratio is 8:1 with the exception of ALT (Academic Language Therapy), which is typically 2:1. All children learn best in multisensory learning environments. With the innovative, research-driven, multisensory instruction we provide, and integrated ALT to give them the skills they need to be proficient readers, our students not only learn and succeed, they flourish and excel.
The mission of Rawson Saunders School is to develop the full potential of children with dyslexia through an extraordinary education.
At Rawson Saunders, all instruction is individualized and tailored to fit each child’s learning style. We are committed to addressing each students’ needs and strengths. Our school is fully departmentalized which means our instructors—master teachers who are specialists in their fields—are teaching the subjects they love and know best. Technology is embraced and thoughtfully integrated into the curriculum where appropriate. Care is taken to meet our students’ emotional and social needs as well, and we have school-wide initiatives in place to foster strong character development. School enrichments and extracurricular activities abound—there are outlets available for all interests and talents from science to sports.
Rawson Saunders' graduates are bright, self-directed, independent, and confident. They emerge from Rawson Saunders self-aware, highly motivated, and prepared to succeed. Engaged, enthusiastic learners and thinkers, they are fully equipped to meet and exceed the expectations of higher education and beyond.
